I feel the need to watch this again before commenting in any depth, especially about Edward James Olmos's performance as Adama. I didn't "get" a great deal of it toward the end, and need to sort some stuff out.

I will say this, though: Richard Hatch is doing a much better job acting this time around than he did in the first version. Not just because ethically murky characters are more interesting than designated heroes, but because he's understated more than not. He's nuancing this in ways that are hard to express. I think his character is a complete whackjob in the service of communism's worst excesses, but at least he's three dimensional about it.

What does one say to the superior officer who just greeted your battered, abused, broken-hearted and grieving self with a hug and a kiss? Er, the same superior officer who was going to be your brother-in-law? That's a toughie.

I guess I saw Kara/Lee coming when they gave the Starbuck character a sex change, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It doesn't seem to mean she has to like, it either. ;)

Greetings from Hellhole Missouri!

I was sooooo hoping that TPTB would not foist Kara/Lee upon us. And they were doing so good with that until last night. *dejected sigh*

Also, do you know of anyone who can crack walnuts with their hands? I don't. Leads me to speculate on that; combine it with the previews for next week and Preggers!Boomer with a gun...

They were special, Colonial walnuts that bow to the will of the Fleet and the leader thereof. ;)
