Writer's Block: 9/11
Sep. 11th, 2011 10:27 am[Error: unknown template qotd] Packing to move from Hollywood, FL, to Cedartown, GA. Mother and I had been bantering over whether we could stay focused on sorting and tossing with soap operas daytime dramas on in the background right before we flipped on the TV. We were unable to remain focused for about two hours after we did.

Jun. 26th, 2011 02:48 am[Error: unknown template qotd] Um, none. If you've ever wondered what the hell is wrong with me, pick from: Baby Boom vintage upper middle class White Anglo-Saxon Protestant suburban-American Princess, raised in Northern California by a member of the Greatest Generation and the Sandwich Generation, both Fortune 500 middle managers and hell-bent on giving their baby girl the Very Best of Everything. So essentially, no whim (nor need) went unmet and I am the first of several generations of my family to grow into a (slightly) lower standard of living than I grew up with, and that's only because I declined to wed or to learn to stop spending money like a drunken sailor at 11:45 on a Cinderella pass prior to age 40.
Plus, there was no such thing as an Android tablet computer back then.
edited to add: did I leave out "only child?" I might have. In case it isn't obvious. The step-sister and two half-sisters were all raised in other states, or Southern California, which pretty much counts as a different state from Northern California.

Writer's Block: Play it again, e-reader
Jun. 23rd, 2011 01:15 am[Error: unknown template qotd] Lord of the Rings was my first compulsive re-read, followed by Asimov's Foundation trilogy, largely for the total escape into a different reality that they offered. With all respect, I consider certain romance authors to be rereads, especially those with continuing series. Yes, the details are different but the story remains the same.

if I can only be one,it's Lwaxana

Writer's Block: Mother Monster returns
May. 23rd, 2011 12:09 pm[Error: unknown template qotd] "Girlfriend can sing." Seriously. I blew her off because of the outre fashion sense, then actually listened on the Graham Norton show to "Born this Way." Then I got to thinking about Madonna, and how I used to say that the #1 most successful way for Madonna wanna-bes to succeed probably wouldn't look anything like Madonna. I feel vindicated. Way to go, GaGa
