Did I die? Is this heaven?

"That's a poodle." still makes me pee something laughing

No, no! It's Paradise for Slashers. Even the "coming soon" was spectacular.

"Let's all have sex."
"And I thought the end of the world couldn't get worse."

I blither, I gibber, I just got done watching it. I might be more coherent later.

Let's just say no radiation cluster bomb could possibly be a patch on the explosive nature of John Barrowman and James Marsters sharing a screen with intent.

"EYECANDY" [diez]

Also, that's about as well as I've seen expository re-cementing of a team for the second season done, in, like, ever.

Oh my yes. This whole episode had me alternating between laughing myself silly and trying not to scream "Boy kissing!" loud enough to alarm the neighbors.

EYECANDY!

The office scene with Ianto and Jack, followed by the Jack Hart elevator sex near miss had me wheezing nearly non-stop. The scene in the warehouse between Owen and Tosh was the most bearable het UST I've seen in a while. :)

I'm still trying to decide what I think of the re-juiced Jack/Gwen UST underlying their sort-of power struggle. I took the whole kiss him back to life thing last season as close friendship chemistry, but apparently, I was to take it as deathless passion?

I also loved Captain John's suggestion of an orgy, and the look on Ianto's face where it looks like he's considering it for about two seconds.

I can't figure out where they're going with the Jack/Gwen stuff. It kind of bothered me in the finale that she was the only one to believe and sit vigil, though she had seen more of Jack's "can't die" schtick, and had known about it for a lot longer.

The scene where Jack learns Gwen and Rhys are getting married just felt weird to me. I know Jack will shag anything if it's pretty enough, but he does seem to respect other's boundaries about how relationships work. So maybe that was the death knell of any ship there, because now that Gwen's "off the market" he won't be flirty anymore?

On the other hand, that makes it seem like asking Ianto out on a date wasn't really because he had interest in the pursuit, but he wanted to be with someone and it would be easier to restart a relationship than to start one. It could also relate to how Jack's trying to respect our rather backwards view of relationships -- even if Ianto did consider John's orgy comment for two seconds, I don't think Ianto's the type to share willingly, and Jack knows this.

I have this weird feeling that Ianto may be the type to "top from below" in the relationship. Even though Jack appears to be in control and Ianto's rather quiet, I think it's really going to boil down to Jack's not going to do anything that Ianto doesn't want him to do.

Have you seen the new promo for the next episode? There's an adorable line from Ianto in it.

I've seen it now

And, hey! They should know better than to mess with what amounts to the secretary. The admins run the joint; the rest of us are loud decoration.

Yep, back when I actually had the title of Admin, people would usually want to talk to me rather than my boss, because I actually knew what was going on. ;)

I've been curious about how long everyone's been involved in Torchwood. We know Ianto was involved at Torchwood 1 (or at least when it was in operation) and dragged his girlfriend out after the battle at Canary Wharf. What about everyone else? Did Jack specifically recruit them, or were they already working there?

I've heard a rumor we'll get a little background on this, or at least about Ianto's past with Torchwood, and apparently it's not exactly what we think. From what I gather, they'd intended to kill off Ianto, then changed their minds, which is why he didn't have much development in the first season. I think they're making up for lost time now.

Making up for lost time where Ianto is concerned is okay with me!

I was also glad to see at least one more appearance by Marsters in the promos at the end of the first ep.
