Link to the MGM poll is in there, too.
Did I make any sense at all?

Date: 2007-12-08 05:31 am (UTC)Add onto that our book club party was last night at Tam's house, and she was burning every candle she owns, which is a lot. We've known each other since... well, an obscenely long time, there are decades involved here, which is scary as hell, and she usually tries to avoid using scented stuff when she knows I'm going to be around. One or two candles probably wouldn't have bothered me, but there were probably twenty to thirty, and some were cinammon, which are one of the worst offenders. Extra meds are trying to calm that shit down.
And this morning started with a supervisor's meeting (aka me listening to everyone else getting yelled at, because my department doesn't create the same sort of financial drain the rest do), then I took off this afternoon to do Christmas shopping -- my own and for my parents, because my mother's just not up to it. I got about 3/4 done. Yes, that means I just started today. Shuddup.

Date: 2007-12-08 02:59 pm (UTC)Damn me for having over half of my cousins that I think of as siblings, so I buy for their kids, and I buy for the rest out because I don't want to start a war if discovered. Actually, it's kind of odd, the cousins I'm not really close to have great kids -- one loves to come visit me in the library. There's actually two more kids, but they're older we gave them the option of continuing to get their own gift or participate in the Chinese Christmas Exchange. They decided to do that, because it's a lot more fun. ;)
The kids are the ones I have the freakout over, because I have to get two gifts (one from me, one from the 'rents). But I decided last year I'm going with the complete cliche and I'm getting them all books. Now I could order them from the library vender and get them even cheaper, but no, I have to be a complete dork and sit in the floor of Hastings reading storybooks to match them to each kid. The boy with the attention span of a gnat on speed gets an "I Spy" book, so at least he can look at the pictures. ;)
