What in hell are cat macros? I keep seeing references to them, especially during wank, but pages seem to turn up missing when I click links to find out, especially during wank.

What are they, and why do I notice them mostly during 'net wank?

I think they are those pictures with really bad spelling with crazy pictures of cats. I'm not entirely sure, though.

Crazy pictures were pretty much all that was up at the one page I found, so I was pretty sure I hadn't finished looking, because to me? "Macro" means a timesaving utility a computer user sets up to perform a repetitive series of steps at the press of a single button. Used to note and wrap up user accounts with'm back when I was collecting past due bills. Instead of opening notes, adding date, typing in "will pay balance in full by [x date]" updating notes and closing accout, I pushed a button and entered [x date], and thought I had pretty mad programming skills (this was well before "z" was appropriate in that context; I believe the 386 running Windows 3 was all the rage) because of it.

Picture with caption = macro, no matter how cute or hysterically funny, does not compute for me.

It makes the locals mad, too. Elmer and Veronica want their own macros now, and are sulking as only cats can. ;)

Don't tell the patrons I cheat with Wikipedia to get shortcuts to what they're looking for. They're already in shock over the devastation I've wrought in the nonfiction section -- over four complete stacks (four units with five three-foot long shelves) worth weeded out and I'm only about halfway done.

The "dead spot" in the stacks has now reached the point where it's very obvious. You can see it when you walk in the door, so a lot of patrons are commenting on it. Of course they're generally asking when we're going to fill it back up. ;)

My icon is a cat macro. Cat macros are pictures of cats with witty(?) and often misspelled wording. The fridge cat macro in my icon is pretty well known.
