SGA "Sunday" SPOILERS
Mar. 10th, 2007 10:31 amREAL SUBJECT LINE:
Emo Plot Bunny, Free to a Good Home.
Because this plot bunny spoils a not-so-minor character information plot point (though it was of course minor in the overal scheme of things "Sunday")
Character plot point spoiled: John Sheppard was married.
Canon: Divorce? We don't really know, do we?
Unshakable fanon: John Sheppard is gayer than three Christmas dollar bills, or whatever makes sense there, and barely bothers to conceal it.
[pause to moon a bit over the mental image of John Sheppard in full lean on the object of one's choice.]
Further fanon: Obviously John's marriage ended with the discovery of his gay-itude.
Crack fanon I'd like to promote, except this post is about pimping an emo bunny: What woman would put up with her haircare products being crowded out by his? Honestly! Sex had nothing to do with it!
We arrive, at last, at the Emo Plot Bunny:
1. John thinks he's straight.
2. John marries the girl.
3. John discovers he's so very not straight, even the concept of bisexuality is on some other continuum of sexual preference than his.
4. John, who cares about his wife & not hurting her enough to stay married, if not actually have sex with her, is widowed...
5. (for extra emo credit)...possibly under circumstances for which he has room to blame himself!1!!11!!!!1 (Oh, quit it. I know you angst whores are out there. Confront it, embrace it, make it your own.)
6. Depending on how long you want your emo masterpiece to be, expand on how such a tragedy would inform one or more of the following points:
a. John's risk-taking behavior
b. John's black mark.
c. John's "never seeing it coming."
d. John's taste for Ascended women.
e. John's barely concealing his sexuality.
f. John's utter obliviousness to Rodney's interest in his skinny, over-gelled self.
Extra, extra credit: expand at some length on what "emo" actually means, in the extraordinarily likely case I am misusing it.
