SG-1 "Counterstrike"
Aug. 26th, 2006 02:30 amFirst of all, YAY MORENA BACCARIN! She looked beautiful and not at all like a Companion. As Adria the Orici, she portrayed the perfect vessel of evil with a patina of humanity. I'm very glad to see her getting work.
This was the Bud Light of episodes otherwise: tastes great, less of a filler-feel. We touched bases with the season arc, after all, so it would have been difficult to suck quite as hard as Insiders or Uninvited in terms of choppiness and/or "there's a point to this?"
The Jaffa returned to bad-assdom there for a minute, and all without being re-enslaved. I was glad to see the deus-ex-machina on Dakara destroyed, as the writers will now have to come up with some other massive cheat to knock the slats out from under the Ori.
Does anyone know who the actor was who played Se'tak, the leader of the Jaffa and destroyer of Taur'i alliances? TV.com, Imdb.com and Gateworld.net all let me down.
I thought the writers did a better job of giving everyone something to do in this, though there is always room for improvement. (Teal'c is more than arm porn, damn it, and did my ears deceive me, or did Carter order Mitchell to report?)
I might nitpick more about radio protocol while sneaking around an enemy ship, but frankly? I'm in a glittery gold afterglow of squee after Atlantis and really can't be bothered. :D
