Newbies: trust me! The more you see, the better it gets. Having watched the series through a couple of times, there are still layers to the premiere I'm uncovering.
The look on Mal's face when he sees the Alliance ships coming down and realizes his victory against wild-ass odds is all for naught still breaks my heart.
Zoe really is just that phlegmatic, isn't she? :D Raised to high art in Out of Gas, but we see the seeds in this one.
How did "Wash" get to be "Walsh" in the closed captioning? o.0
I'd like to say Jayne gets better. Really I would. It turns out that we loves him so for the vulgar git he is. ;)
Yes, Kaylee really is that sweetly loopy, and we loves her so for it, too.
That's not Simon. It's his stick-up-the butt twin.
I'm still closing my eyes and going to my happy place where there is no Book. Book is the show-killer. I will ignore Book like he is not there, allowing him to pass beyond the edges of my consciousness. In the end, I will turn the inner eye down Book's path and see only...everyone but the freakin' Shepherd!
Inara is so not a whore. Yes, she has lots of paid sex, but she is not a whore. We meet those in Heart of Gold. Or, maybe, Our Mrs. Reynolds, if you're in the mood for a nice mrrrow prr prr prr.
The crew of the Serenity is going to be rilly, rilly sorry they didn't leave the girl in the block of ice, I promise.
