SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!
Out of his astrophysics lab element, is not TryingToPleaseJohn!Rodney or SoldierBoy!Rodney not the most adorkable thing you have ever seen?
First, hands all over John to..guide him! Yes, totally guide him in the right direction. Oh, yeah.
"What? Isn't that right?" [followed by John's Safety Glasses Glare o'Dork Doom]
...and the LOOK on Rodney's face when John started handling the ZPM box...
...and do mine eyes deceive me, or was Major Lorne leching for his Lt. Colonel, maybe just a little? "Let us know if we can help you with that." Am I the only one who saw MASSIVE, uniformed, group prison sex, or am I a perv beyond hope?
Added bonus in the B-plot: Ronon's Guide To
I've seen remarks in other places that there were plot holes big enough for trucks and stuff, but the writers hit that sweet spot between arm/hand/thigh holsterporn and snark that someone's going to have to point the plot holes out to me. Well, except with respect to the
Good send off for Cowan, though its abruptness makes me wonder if Colm Meaney didn't price himself out of the market or somesuch. The Atlantean did come across a little dopey, taking the word of a guy who put the Simple Amish Farmer over on Teyla for years, but Meaney played that perfectly. I had a strong sense of a doublecross from both Genii guys, but either suspended enough disbelief or was sufficiently sleepy to second guess the ending.
Ronon just wants to be wanted. :D Teyla would dearly love to work with grownups, but Lizzie is still being mean and making her babysit the little boys. :D
"I want to find out who doesn't think I'm a threat and give them a chance to change their mind..." more or less exact quote. I adored that.
I think the scene between Leydon's ailing sister and Carson Beckett was the most powerful in the whole show, though it was egregiously underplayed in the overall plot. The Genii seriously don't get what they're giving up, do they? Maybe AllBetterNow!Blondie will spread the good word.
On the whole, a satisfying episode, though they pretty much had nowhere to go but up after the Massive Excuse to Ship Everyone In Sight that was last week's ep.

Date: 2006-01-12 06:05 pm (UTC)I can't wait to see it in on regular screen...dialup limits me to some fairly low-quality downloads, and I sense that we got some most excellent expressions out of Sheppard in this one.

Date: 2006-01-12 04:23 pm (UTC)That's the thing with SGA for me. I don't really analyze it on the level I do SG-1, because I don't expect as much from it. I watch for the squee and the slash, which are often the same thing. If they give me enough of that and don't ship the hell out of it, I'm fine.
I've got this one but haven't watched it yet. Maybe tonight, if I'm not exhausted after Anime Club.
And yes, you are a perv beyond hope, but you're in good company.
