While I appreciate the sentiment, for me personally, it's more like:

"That'll be $1.06 for this shitty McDonald's coffee."
"Oh thank fuck, yay caffeine, maybe I can actually stay awake at work now."

"That'll be $17 for a paperback that'll fall apart in a couple years, or $35 for a hardcover that will have a ripped dust jacket within a month."
"Um...I think I'll wait the five years it'll take for our poor library to get it..."
