I say mee-mee, but my teenage niece has corrected me and told me it's meeem.

I've never thought of it as anything except meeem.

Please don't let this be like the pronunciation of gif, in which the creator says it's one way, and pretty much everyone else says it's the other.

Well, I do it with a hard g as in go and am rather set in my ways. What's the creator think?

The creator says "It's pronounced JIF, not GIF."

Which is silly to me, because it stands for Graphics Interchange Format, which has a hard G. So I shall continue to ignore his decision, because the creator doesn't always control his creation, but the users do.
