SGA: Critical Mass SPOILERS

So, the Internet Truck finally hit the pothole on the information superhighway nearest my hard drive and a copy of Stargate: Atlantis #213, Critical Mass magically appeared. I've heard rumors that Bad Things are being said about this episode and am wondering why? Like
rageprufrock, I am delighted by even the slimmest of plot or character continuity, and this episode dished up so much (at least with respect to ongoing storylines) that I have "they've gotten it out of their system now and anything goes" fears.
OMG, everyone was there. Crossover with SG-1 in the form ofRadar O'Reilly Walter Harriman, General Landry, passing mention of Spammikins but no other SG-1 teammember quelle shock, faves from the Daedalus crew, Cadman, Kavanaugh, a freakin' goa'uld, the Athosian lady of a certain age whom Teyla considers to be her surrogate grandmother and, of all things, a musical number! There was singing! And there could have been tapdancing!
You think I'm kidding, you people who disdain the delights of the internet truck? You wait! You'll see!
OK, the red herrings were basically flashing red neon I AM NOT THE BAD GUY, but they had a busy little episode going there. It's the first time certain threats in the plot line were, y'know, threatening, which is both sad and exciting.
And may I just say? LORD OF THE RINGS!!!
You'll know it when you see it.
Is it too much to ask for the writers to be done with ripping off Star Wars and have moved on to new source material?
