Rodney's tail is chasing him again

At one time, this resulted in hilarious donuts being cut into the carpet by a crazed kitty, but now he's all grown up and doing backflips to sneak up on the devious thing. The tail still escapes him. I still have no idea which is more embarrassing:  that he hasn't even once caught it or that he still tries.

Result of failure to stick the backflip landing? (paw lick) "I meant to do that."

My favorite is when their own flicking tail flicks them in the face and they startle like they are being shanghaied.

I can confirm this behavior. His tail brushes up in complete panic, then he runs wildly into another room and back to get away from the even bigger thing chasing him, then he either makes donuts in the carpet or flips over to fail at catching it.
