Change o'life
May. 17th, 2014 12:39 pmI'm now virtually certain that the last two or three years of depression, anxiety and enhanced ADD were the result of menopause. This makes me want to slap the fire out of someone, as following puberty, I swore never to be the victim of hormones again.
Mother Nature must still be laughing.

Date: 2014-05-17 05:07 pm (UTC)My reaction was, "Bring it on!" While I did have an ablation done to deal with my anemia (and found that my horrific periods were the result of non-cancerous cysts that many women have and suffer every month because they think it's just part of being older), I can still sometimes tell when my PMS kicks in. It certainly doesn't help my mood or pain level, that's for certain. Ask my pretty much deaf father when he finally gets on my last nerve asking the same question over and over during that time. ;)

Date: 2014-05-18 11:11 am (UTC)The best advice I can give is to talk to the female relative you most take after (like, you lose and gain weight the same way they do or started your menses at the same time) and find out when menopause hit, then be on the lookout. After all the jokes about things like "just send a bunch of menopausal women to look for bin Laden," I figured on a different brand of sturm und drang.
I hope all menopause does to/for you is stop the migraines and anything else your hormones are fussing up. Given the totally different experiences women have with it, I think it's entirely possible for you.
