I'm especially digging the occasional question from peripheral characters about why the author does certain things the way she does in her books. Nice that Kath Reichs can laugh at herself that way, and scenes like "You mean the characters are TWO dimensional. One dimensional exists only in theoretical mathematics" make for pretty good comedy.
