Yeah, first world problem; possibly localized to the upper middle class, even. (Tries to feel shame; is publicly discussing $$, so that ship has pretty much sailed.)
I was thinking about dehydrated meals for air plane rides. You know they have all that hot water for tea people; why not get my Knorr on and go gourmet? In the process of figuring out a good dried coconut milk curry, I discovered Pack It Gourmet, which conveniently has a Basic Camp Kitchen Pack for backpacking beginners.
Really? $55 for a box of 2oz packages of dried food? When I can go $60 for this, and apply a little character-building elbow grease? How much is convenience worth??
