If you tell a massage therapist something hurts, they stop doing it.
If you tell an occupational therapist something hurts, they press harder.

On the bright side, however, my golfer's elbow seems to be getting better. Fewer twinges, less swelling. I was feeling magnificently roguish today, so I went without my brace without the orthopedist's permission. wheeeeEEEEEEEEeeeeee

I'm a wild one, me.

My physical therapist seemed to take great glee in making things hurt worse. When it involved a torn calf muscle in a leg that I'd already destroyed my ankle a few times over, he was lucky he didn't get a kick in the head.

Yay for no brace, but just don't overdo it! /mom voice

My roguishness resulted in a dose of Tylenol and some icing. Not bad, really. Of course, we'll see what the doctor has to say about it later this morning.

What is it about PTs and the whole "hurt to make it better" thing? does this really work?

I think PTs are actually sadists who get paid to work on unsuspecting people.
