It's most annoying because she has occasional, brief bouts of fresh-air breath being, if that makes sense. I like it that she isn't thrown by what Tony dishes out into being mean back (the impression I occasionall got from Caitlyn Todd,) but the writers are being very inconsistent with the fish-out-of-water moments vs. brilliant-Mossad-agent moments. About the best use they've made of that was outside the one bank with McGee when she stared for a long time at what turned out to be the guys waiting to ambush them, then apparently didn't say anything because she wasn't running the op, or it wasn't that kind of op, or whatever.
Tim McGee had a much longer run-up before he was a card carrying member of the club, and he came pre-fitted with skills of use to the investigative team. So far, Ziva Sue is there to be a smart-ass back to Tony and pull rabbits out of hats.
