MEMO TO BRIDGE, you lame-assed bastards: The first few episodes following Twilight are how you kiss a character gently goodbye, but most especially the tag scene with Ziva, Gibbs and Caitlyn Todd's notebote. [snif]

Allergies, damnit. Something in my eye.

Anyway, Ziva David is proving to be lots of fun, but I still resent the hell out of the way she was introduced.

Dony just admitted to being a "little poo boy" to his favorite hazing targets?!? He really was lost in the kid-trauma. We do know, though, that he spent time with his father...

..And that Ziva will go to some harrowing lengths to avoid talking about hers.

Tim McGee may not be the newbie anymore, but he's surely still the woobie! :D

Ducky's luck with women holds true, God love'im.

Still not impressed with NCIS Director Barbie. Not even a little bit. The shippy flashbacks need to stop and NOW. They are not cute and advance nothing in the plot.

Abby and Ziva do not get along. Abby is still mourning Cait. Refreshing and awwwwwww.

Why can't we flashback to Gibbs "taking care of" that dress code shit instead of that mad, passionate obviously beard-y BS in Paris?

The pictures of the team...awwwwwwwwww.

I so agree with you about Director Barbie. She treats Gibbs like a child.

I'm watching now and wondering why they had to bring in a female who looks somewhat like Kate. It is creeping me out seeing her in ponytail and cap. Maybe an african-american or asian would have given us a completely different look. Heck, I would have even been ok with a blonde.

I'm also not liking the way she is picking on Tony. Maybe I can just block her out.

I think this is what happens when the writers don't really want to replace a cast member but must. Remember, Bridge didn't overtly want Michael out, they just didn't want to write Daniel anymore, and God knows they were too lazy to write a decent transition to the new character, let alone...a new character.

I don't think Bellisario's crew suffers from anything like the same creative laziness, but I've noticed that successor characters seem to mirror their predecessor either visually or in some other characteristics. I think it's an effort to ease the audience over with a few familiar landmarks before the actor/ress is permitted to make the character his or her own. (see for reference all the time Michael spent "doing" James Spader.)

I never saw Caitlyn Todd's introductory episodes, but I do remember the long, slow integration of newie!Tim McGee into the team, and am inferring Tony put Cait through a similar wringer. So, Tony Abuses the Newbie has been done. I'm sort of glad they're having the Newbie Abuse Tony, as the same or even a similar dynamic he had with new!Cait would be horrifying for Caitlyn Todd fans.

Again, though I will always harbor some resentment for the way she was introduced, Ziva's definitely got the potential to be fun. I'm just holding out for her to be Gibbs's surrogate daughter and Tony's little sister. PleasepleasePLEASE don't let them get all shippy with her!
