Please try SMS -- ticket traffic I'm seeing at Major Wireless Carrier indicates voice is overloaded, but SMS (text messaging) and data are still working.

The fact that we're seeing tower activity means our infrastructure is still up, which ought to be good news for other buildings, etc.

FWIW, Verizon was down for a while, so was Comcast, but people were getting texts

Here at Major Wireless Carrier, they're calling it a "mass call event."

Also, a co-worker with a daughter near Andrews found out that the telecom systems were shut down in that area on purpose until about 20 minutes ago, pending determination there was no terrorist attack in progress. I'm guessing there's no diff between a bomb shockwave and a quake shockwave and they have to be careful.
