Dr. Smith was kind of a ringer on that list. His raison d'etre was pretty much WLB-iness. :D He and Owen can form a support group in a galaxy far, far away.

You know, I only watched a few episodes of Heroes and still can't believe I left Petrelli off the list!

Nick Knight? Whinier than any Skywalker (trust me, it was a tough choice between father and son, but I didn't want to stack the poll) or Teh Master of Brood, Angel? Hmmm. I may have to research that. The man-candy inherent in 'Forever Knight' has nothing to do with it, of course.

It was a hard list to sort because they are all pretty whiny bitches. What I ended up doing is putting them lower or higher based on vocalization vs sulking (hence Angel got a bit lower despite being the master of brood), frequency and mitigating circumstances. Daniel, for instance, is usually whining about things other people should be paying attention to but aren't, yet rarely whines about his frequent dying. Mickey Smith was a real whiner, but toughened up as the series went on.

If Angel and Duncan MacLeod had a secret lovechild, it would be Nick Knight. Seasons 1 & 2 are free on Hulu. Episodes are structured as such:
I has a case! I will have UST with Natalie and listen to her half backed scheme to "cure" me. I mope for I was a very bad man. I ate people. Woah! Here comes a flash back! Now what? Oh wait, I need to save someone. And LaCroix will talk to me in his sexy, sexy voice. Oh noes! Another flash back! What was I doing? Oh yeah feeling guilty.

I must point out too, that Forever Knight came before Angel, so Nick was brooding before it became the trendy thing for modern vamps to do.
