Going blind. No one ever explained that my nearsightedness would stabilize when I stopped growing, so I thought it would just get worse every year until I was blind. Last fall, that made the temporary loss of vision in my right eye due to a vitreal hemorrhage that much more special, even though I've long since figured out the growing thing myself. I guess the subconscious never forgets.
