Also, laughter is the best medicine for moderate to major depression due to job-related stress. Just imagine this guy talking this way about your boss/co-workers.

Moving In (To Every Single Aspect of Danny's Life, Including the Boring Bits Like Dry-Cleaning) by westgirl
Hawaii Five-0
Male/Male slash, Teen and Up rating
Summary: It felt wrong for Steve to sound unsure of his place in Danny’s life. His place in Danny’s life was at Danny’s side, driving him slowly insane. Steve should feel secure about that.

FYI: I stopped to recommend this at the point when Chin said "We're going to get lunch," and Kono added "On the mainland," as much because it was funny as that I needed to get my breathing under control and make the wheezing stop.

Of course, that's the only thing I miss about the D*C panels big enough to require screens to enlarge the panelists. But, I do miss bumpers like this:

Not sure how many of you have heard of The New Adventures of Queen Victoria let alone read it, but it's a mostly amusing, extremely surreal comic written and drawn by a mostly amusing, extremely surreal artist.

SHOUT OUT TO LIBRARIANS! Keep those banned books coming, though this particular one...hmmm. I'm with Her Maj; we are unsure.

And of course Queens Victoria and Elizabeth I would be the greatest of gal pals:

Is "fanfiction with the serial number filed off" just too recursive for words, or am I being a snide rhymes-with-witch again?

I am not mentioning my employer by name, but from time to time, I do drop broad hints. Still not mentioning them by name (mainly because I am no where near compliant with branding requirements and they take that seriously,) here is my contribution to the current campaign, which I actually take seriously:

With a birthday coming up that puts me within striking distance of a senior citizen's discount, I'm having more and more difficulty acting my age. In all seriousness, though, I do not now, nor have I ever understood how anyone ever thought texting while driving was a sane idea, let alone a good one.

So if you haven't already, PLEASE Take the Pledge.

Sometimes the best thing about gocomics.com is the comments (that link also includes the strip, so not posting it redundantly.) Gary Trudeau is apparently on vacation, so this Sunday's Doonesbury strip is actually from 2010 and covers two things: the war between the sexes (first two panels) and science class in Louisiana. I guess Cobb County, Georgia, boards of education aren't the only ones with a failure to understand methodological naturalism.

'Nyway, if true, there are some educational responses to that strip. If not true, there are some rilly rilly funny responses to that strip. You can't lose anything but time!

To spam the readership, because if you're already an xkcd fan, you know about the new Tuesday "What if...?" feature and if you're not an xkcd fan, I hope it's because you're one of today's 10,000 and not because you tried it and thought it too weird to exist (which it kind of is, but that's the point) and the "What if...?" feature is a weird up on the comic most of the time. Anyway, as of this post, there have been a grand total of 10 What If...? columns, and I felt the need to share my faves:

Robot Apocalypse
Maybe it's the recent-ness of Dragon*con and its annual robo-battles or maybe it's the deadly cell phone reference, but this one is far and away my favorite, and with the direct Terminator and oblique Time Cop references (no links because I couldn't find appropriate video clips in a reasonable amount of time, edited to add links OMG give me brain bleach for all the wrong clips of 80's hair and fashion choices I had to look at to find them.) I don't see it getting dethroned anytime soon. (*bonk*bonk* GUFFAW)

A Mole of Moles
"Things get a bit gruesome."
SNERK
'Nuff sed

Relativistic Baseball (also, the inaugural What If column and your shortcut to how it all began)
All the diagrams with the circles and the arrows lack is a back for there to be a paragraph expaining what each one is.

Everybody Jump
Well, of course Randall got the cell phone science right; he's the Compleat Geek (or would that be Geke in this case?) Realistic portrayal of consequences to the cellular network give me little shivers and tingles every time I see it, though.

edited to add: am still searching for appropriate Terminator and Time Cop clips. I thought the amount of time I'm spending was unreasonable, until I realized how much  80's hair I would be looking at OMG SAVE ME.

Or, y'know, WINNING! )

Perhaps it's one of those days I'm easily amused (pause to allow all flist iterations of "and how is that different from/to any other day?") or the great comic hive mind was getting its butt kicked by technology, but I found two examples of funny on the topic of 'my tech is smarter' at gocomics.com today.
