But remember always to call it "research"
Sep. 28th, 2012 09:45 am1. Does anyone know if Jews were saying "mazel tov" in the last half of the seventh century?
2. Does anyone know of a good Jewish heresy that would be credible in the last half of the seventh century?
3. Does anyone know where in China the Nestorian Christians settled?
4. Does anyone know if a Chinese Nestorian Christian could credibly be found in Iraq/Persia or Alexandria in the last half of the seventh century?
5. Does anyone think that the whitest WASP girl on you flist can credibly write a late seventh century Chinese Christian character? 'Cause it was all fun and games until I found out that seventh century Christians of European descent were still a little too barbaric for the current scenario, given my tendency to write barbarians as buffoons or psychopaths.
(though it is piquant to imagine what a large Viking chick would make of being told there was no God but Allah, etc., by an eight year old Muslim girl.)
