If only people who have seen the movie respond to this, there are very likely to be spoilers in the comments, so those who have not seen the movie should govern themselves accordingly.

It's like toddlers: Mother Nature makes them unbearably cute when they're asleep so we don't strangle the misbehaving little (expletive deleted)s when they're awake.

The smartphone, by the way, is the lowest cost, most fully featured I could find. According to my computer geek/Jehovah's Witness (the combination blows my mind still) IM buddy in Mississippi, my geek cred is dropping like a rock because I got an LG Thrive instead of an iPhone 4S. Yeah, well, I'm a "quote whole scenes of Star Trek/Wars/gate dialog at you" sort of geek, not a "build your laptop from the frame up" sort of geek.

I'd say my data charges are going to be lower than his because I won't be surfing in public just for the cool factor, but I've already determined that my smartphone is smarter than I.
